A biweekly round-up of our favorite travel blog posts is something I have been meaning to do for over a month now. I’m happy to say that I’m following through and making it a priority to actually do it. I read dozens of blogs every week and feel compelled to share some of my favorites with all of you. I hope you find them as entertaining as I did. As always, thank you for reading!

Here are a few posts I have enjoyed from the last two weeks.

How To Maintain a Career and Take On Long-Term Travel

by

A Tramp Abroad

I’ve become an avid reader of Amy’s blog in the past few weeks. Her latest post on the truths and myths about whether long-term travel will ruin your career is a great read for anyone not sure about taking the plunge of a career break. I connect with her positive outlook on ways that travel can actually enhance your career, rather than hinder it.

Bolivian Bus Hell – An Illustrated Guide

by

Never Ending Voyage

I found this post to be absolutely hilarious! A great illustrated story about a bus trip they took from Sucre to Samaipata in Bolivia. I’ve been told Bolivian buses are not exactly comfortable and this pretty much confirms that information for me. I’ve been on a few hellish bus rides, so I can completely relate. And turning this post into a comedy rather than a rant, made it even that much better.

Enriching Travel Through Mindfulness

by

Traveling Savage

In this post, Keith talks about mindfulness and soaking in the present moment, rather than living life constantly thinking about the future or the past. I love the three simple practices that he shares with us from the book, “Peace is Every Step” by Thich Nhat Hanh.

6 Months of Eat Pray Love-ing

by

Bacon Is Magic

I loved Ayngelina’s raw honesty in this post where she reflects upon her first 6 months of solo travel. She shows us some insight into her reasons for embarking on this journey and a little about some of the lessons she has learned from it. An entertaining and well-written post.

Crickets A La Carte in Thailand

by

Backpacking Matt

I had to add this post by Matt because this is something I am not brave enough to do myself. I’m not so adventurous when it comes to eating bugs, but Matt bought a bag full of an assortment of bugs and tried them all!
